In accordance with KNL’s desire to support community events, small businesses, up and coming artists, musicians actors or just anyone starting out, back on the 6th July we posted a link to an art exhibition from 25th to 28th July by Beatrice McBride whom with have been following for sometime.
We attending the opening drinks on thursday evening of the 25th July and again we were not disappointed by the talent of Beatrice, or that of her mother, Patricia Ford who co-hosted the event displaying her own works of art alongside that of her daughter.
The venue itself filled quite quickly and those in attendance seemed equally impressed resulting in a number of sales of the artworks and all appeared to have enjoyed their time at the event.
The theme has been described as an exploration of the experiences of the “female form through visual metaphors in the mediums of painting and traditional women’s crafts.”
Beatrice describes herself as “a bit of a slashy”. She is an actress, playwright and singer and Patricia is a graduate of COFA, now the school of art and design, UNSW.
