Australia’s former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has entered the free speech debate following the Wakeley Terror attack.
Commenting on the efforts to remove the video, Mr. Abbott states that if the video had not been posted to social media, no one would have found out about the attack.
Mr. Abbott is concerned about the double standards where only the Bishop’s video has been singled out yet there are many other more violent videos freely available. Mr. Abbott claims anxiety over ‘Islamophobia’ may be the main motive for removing the video.
Mr. Abbott asserts that we already have enough censorship by big Tech and believes that the push to censor is a ‘smokescreen’ to push through their proposed Misinformation laws.
Furthermore, Mr. Abbott says that Islamist violence and hate speech must be reined in, and the stabbing video has nothing to do with Misinformation. It is a fact.
Mr. Abbott would like to see more voices from the Islamic community invalidate Islamic teachings on killing in the name of God and that it is the duty of responsible Muslim leaders to ensure the ‘death to the infidels’ mindset is expunged.
