So, by now you’ve probably heard that Liverpool council is once again under threat of being placed in administration. The Council has until Friday 26th July to give cause as to why it should not be suspended, and an administrator appointed. Leaving the people of Liverpool without the right to democratically elect their own council, for months, potentially years. With 10 CEOs in 8 years the council was described as “dysfunctional” by Ron Hoeing the ALP state minister for local government, and he has given Mayor Ned Mannoun and his council until Friday of this week to give cause (a…
Maintaining income, sanity, and a sense of community during COVID-19 restrictions is something all Australians struggled with during the pandemic. This issue was nothing but motivation for local mother of seven, Kirsty. Previously a women’s business mentor and business and life coach, Kirsty decided to take a leap of faith and start the Community Café and Outreach Services during the 2020 lockdowns. The café, located in Sadlier, was opened with one goal in mind, being a social enterprise, which would bring economic empowerment back to the Liverpool area. The café quickly became a ‘no questions asked’ drop-in centre that filled…
Jahream Bulla, who once turned down an offer from the Gold Coast Titans to pursue a basketball career in the NBL, has made an instant impact on the NRL. The future of the West Tigers was being touted as one to watch by veteran coach Tim Sheens back in this year’s preseason. Tim Sheens, Coaching Insider Round 11, speaks highly of Bulla, saying, “I mentioned him [Bulla] back in pre-season. The fact that he’s got to where he has at this stage is a bonus for us. I’ve been very happy with the way he’s prepared and the way he’s…

After two years, the historic Luddenham Show is back on the 4th and 5th of March. This will be the 117th Annual Luddenham Show and its Committee expects it will be the biggest ever. That’s saying a lot about the scope of this year’s event since the Luddenham Show may have a fair claim to having the very first country event of this kind ever held in the colony, as reported all the way back in 1891. The Show will host the traditional agricultural events that have always been its staples such as the sheepdog trials, and dog high jump.…
On the 25th of March 2023, New South Wales voters will head to the polls to elect the 58th Parliament of NSW. Western Sydney looms as one of the key battlegrounds for both major parties, with many long-term MPs and their fierce rivals retiring from politics. This can lead to several seats switching from one party to another as happened in the 2011 election when Liberals took over a few electorates in Sydney’s west from Labor and secured victory for the Coalition. The electoral district of Liverpool was not among them. This electorate has existed since 1950 and has never…
